I’ve got not much this week, and so I’d rather have Petr Chelcicky do the talking today. He was a Czech Christian in the Middle Ages who wrote against both the Roman Catholic structure and against the Hussites and Taborites (protestants before Luther and the Reformation) for their commitment to war. He was radical in that he always pointed back to Christ and to the Scripture and saw any formulation based on tradition against the plain words of Scripture as a betrayal. He was hated and loved for his incorruptibility and refusal to recant or relent. He is little heard of but his voice echoes through the ages.
